SPAR*K took part in the REHAU Group design competition and developed an office for 8-14 co-workers. The requirement of contemporary architecture offices to be adaptable to alternating situations and project related growth served as initial idea for the project. Spatial reorganisation of workplaces and setup of individual workgroups can be arranged easily. The spatial concept divides the office into 3 functional zones: The service zone is set along the wall and consists of a “welcome wall” with a wardrobe, an archive and storage space for material samples and a room for model making. These components are mounted on tracks so they can quickly expand and contract according to specific spatial requirements. The centrally located communication zone is defined by the welcome desk, a library that serves also as a lounge and two multi use rooms which can be used as normal workspace, informal meeting room or an enclosed space for presentations depending on the positioning of the wall components. The working zone is designed as an open space that can be divided through flexible office furniture and movable walls which serve as rack and green wall to one side and display space for presentations on the other.
