The theatre and performance troupe RAMPIG staged ‘La Peste’ by Albert Camus as different performances which take place sequentially and parallel. In the theatre, the classic division between audience and stage is overridden, the spectator is part of a staged exhibition and decides by oneself, when and what one wants to see. The stage sculpture by SPAR*K made out of 2.500 white cardboard boxes supports the concept and adds another element to the stage design. Like a wave, the sculpture rises from the ground, twists itself over the heads of the spectators and actors, defies and overrrides spatial borders and develops out of the exterior bar area into a wall, ceiling and usable element.
Projections onto the sculpture as well as pieces which can be dismantled and are integrated into the play create a mergence of performance, stage design, costumes and sculpture to a ‘Gesamtkunstwerk’ by RAMPIG and SPAR*K.
